Why these ages?

Fenced junior zone with infant swings, toddler-safe slide, spring toy and basket swing is exactly the low-cognitive-load setup for 2-4s. Main zone has multi-play tower with tubular and embankment slides, flying fox, hamster wheel, spinner and wobbly bridge. Canal water play and paddling pool are shallow-play by design, and the junior area's fencing separates toddlers from the deeper features and bike pump track.

Accessibility
Not accessible

Access notes

Description states surfacing is a mix of artificial turf and bark chip, with only angle parking on Gorst Avenue and no accessible equipment, path or toilet described for the play area.

Equipment

Te Awamutu Rose Garden's playground, known locally as Our Space, is a very large destination play area for ages 2 to 12, built as a series of age related zones running from the historic rose gardens along Gorst Avenue to the Te Awamutu Events Centre. It opened in February 2018 as part of a wider regeneration of the town's recreation hub.

Just down the road next to the i-site, the rose garden was in full bloom during our January visit. Next door was a great play area for children of all ages.

A good place to relax and enjoy the day looking at the roses. There are benches under the tree and shade. So we could rest comfortably
