Why these ages?

Riverside reserve alongside Kaiapoi River (water risk), skate bowl integrated into playground (one review: '4-year-old wandered into the pool'), and one review flags speeding traffic on adjacent street. Baby swings, hamster wheel, rope climbing, low-access equipment good for toddlers, but the mixed skate area means a wandering tot needs eyes on. Great for older kids.

Accessibility
Partial access
+ Accessible toilet on site- Bark or wood-chip surface (wheels sink)
Access notes

Description states bark chip surfacing covers the play zone, and a review independently complains about bark and stones causing accidents, though another review separately calls the toilets easily accessible for disabled visitors.

A well looked after park, with a fairly large play area for both children and teenagers. Grandchildren loved the park. There is a lovely rose garden area for adults and budding rose gardeners. Lovely selection of roses. There are shared paths on the hill next to the park bordering the river for long walks and bicycles. There is a swing foot/bicycle bridge over the river to access the park, town & residential areas. Lovely views from bridge.

What a great park, my boys loved it , it literally has a little bit of just about everything and so handy to places in walking distance. It's a great way to explore Kaiapoi and stop and have picnic and a play. We will go back often now. I went for the Waitangi Event. Lots of people but spread out well, plenty of fun things for the kids to kids and lots to look at. I enjoyed it and especially the performances they were AMAZING. Great day all in all.
