Woodville War Memorial's playground sits within Fountaine Square in the centre of Woodville, recently upgraded and notably colourful with equipment scaled across different age groups. It suits toddlers through to primary school aged children, with dedicated options for the youngest visitors alongside more challenging pieces.
Equipment
The refreshed play area includes an eagles nest, a rocktopus, a multi play climbing structure, spring toys and swings, with a slide on the main multi play structure. The wider square gives plenty of open lawn space for kids to run between the large heritage trees.
History and Cultural
Fountaine Square was gifted to the community by T.F. Fountaine in 1896 and remains the town's gathering point for Anzac Day services and Christmas parades. A Band Rotunda from the early 1900s adds heritage character to the precinct.
Practical Info
Public toilets sit on the town side of the square with a dedicated dog toilet facility, and off street parking is available nearby off Ormond Street. Established trees frame the space in every direction and shade the picnic areas close to the play equipment, though the site is unfenced so young children need supervision near the perimeter.
