Why these ages?

Tiny beachside play with a single multi-play and slide on sand right next to the water at Castor Bay. Toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy it but the beach is unfenced and steps away, so parents must have hands-on watch — no wander-free zone. Toilets, shower and picnic tables good for combining beach+play visits.

Access notes

The description explicitly states off street parking includes mobility spaces, a confirmed accessible parking feature. However the play equipment itself sits on a sand surface mirroring the beach, a genuine obstacle for wheelchair wheels even though it is not the standard bark surface, so this stops short of a full wheelchair accessible verdict.

Right beside the sand at Castor Bay on Auckland's North Shore, Castor Bay Beach Playground is a small playground with a simple multi-play structure and slide set against an open grassy area. It's an easy toddler and preschooler stop, especially for families combining a swim with a play session.

Nice kids playground right beside the beach. Clean and tidy area. There are public toilets nearby, making it convenient for families. Great spot for a fun day out. Nice view from here.

Small but lovely beach. There is a small play area for the kids and nice grass area for picnics. The beach has everything you need. There are changing facilities as well. Have spent many summer evenings relaxing here.

The playground isn't very big, but it has a large lawn.
