Castro Drive Playground

Castro Drive Playground, within the Camborne Green reserve in Blenheim Central, is a small neighbourhood playground built around a basket swing, a small carousel, and a wooden multi-play climbing module. Council describes the climbing module as a challenge aimed at the older, more adventurous child, while the basket swing and carousel give younger children their own equipment in the same compact space.

Equipment

The wooden climbing module is pitched at primary-aged children looking for a genuine challenge rather than a simple structure. The basket swing and small carousel sit alongside it and are both well suited to toddlers and younger children. The surface is a mix of artificial matting and bark across the fall zones.

Access and Inclusion

Seating is provided at the reserve, along with a gazebo that offers some shade for spectators, though the play equipment itself has no shade and is exposed at midday in summer. On-street parking is available on De Castro Drive.

Practical Info

The playground predates 2009, making it one of the older reserves in the area, and Marlborough District Council applies a smokefree policy here.
