F W Delamain Park playground on Buchanans Road in Yaldhurst, on the western edge of Christchurch where the city gives way to the open Canterbury Plains, keeps things honest: a flying fox, a multi-play structure with tubular slide, a see-saw, and a solid swing set. It suits ages three to eleven well, with equipment that earns its keep rather than chasing novelty.

Great playground, tennis court with hubs to grind on if your into skateboarding, basketball court, big open field to play in and a stream with plenty of ducks. Great place to visit. Could do with some rubbish bins though.

Big kids playground with fort, 3 monkey bars, climbing wall, slide, see saw, swing and flying fox. Tennis court attached. Large grassy open area for sport or dogs. One picnic bench. Lovely area, shame about the litter.

Better for older children. My 3 year old couldn't really do anything and he's quite big for his age, and my smaller 6.5 year old couldn't reach the monkey bars by himself, or get on the flying fox by himself but could do most other things
