Why these ages?

Fully fenced play area on the banks of the Waikato River — Malcolm Street beach and the river are the main water risk, but the perimeter fence contains toddlers. Basket swing, spring rocker, spring toy, double slide, scrambling net and balance beams sit on artificial turf and bark. Natural materials, bush setting connects to Te Awa cycle trail. Great toddler pick with fence doing the heavy lifting; small equipment range limits older-kid retention.

Beautiful place for a stroll. There's a 1km walkway which follows the river and then branches up to another 1km walkway/cycleway along a lovely stream and goes through some farmland. We parked at Hammond Park and managed a total of 4km (return) through beautiful surroundings. There's also a small "beach" near the parking area with real sand which is lovely to walk along or bring children to play in the sand and get their feet wet.

No toilets, beige and boring. Minimalistic. No diaper changing areas or water fountains either.
