Hillcrest Park Playground

Hillcrest Park Playground on Masters Avenue in Hillcrest, Hamilton is a recently renewed neighbourhood play space with a solid junior and toddler offering, sitting within a larger reserve that also has three sports fields, a boardwalk, and changing rooms. The play set caters well to children from toddlers through to early primary school age.

Equipment

The surface is a mix of artificial grass and bark. Equipment includes a tunnel, embankment slide, climbing mound, basket swing, infant swing, inground trampoline, and a balance course. The inground trampoline sits flush with the ground and is the most accessible piece for toddlers. The tunnel provides an enclosed crawl-through space that younger children enjoy, and the embankment slide suits young children with a bit of adult assistance. The balance course is the main challenge for older primary-age kids. The basket and infant swings cover the youngest visitors.

Trees provide some shade for picnic tables and seating at certain times of day, though shade over the play equipment itself is minimal at midday. On-street parking is available on Masters Avenue. Toilets, changing rooms, and picnic tables are on site. Hamilton City Council's smokefree policy applies.
