Hillcrest Stadium on Cambridge Road in Hillcrest, Hamilton is one of the city's most varied play destinations, combining a full playground with a sealed pump track and a learn-to-cycle circuit in a single site. The pump track is the headliner: a flowing asphalt circuit with rollers, berms, and banked curves that beginners can roll through at their own pace while more experienced riders work the corners for speed. A learn-to-cycle track alongside gives younger children a gentler introduction to riding. The playground itself carries a strong line-up: hamster wheels, a basket swing, a shop-front play structure, a you-and-me swing, inground trampolines, a balance tight-wire, a bowl rocker, bars, and a basketball hoop. A fenced junior area keeps the youngest children separated from the bike circuit. The surface throughout the playground section is bark.

Access and Inclusion

The site is largely flat. The basket swing, inground trampolines, and you-and-me swing suit toddlers and preschoolers, while the fenced junior zone gives parents a contained space for the youngest visitors. The site is not fully fenced at its perimeter, so families with very young children should keep watch near the bike circuit. On-street angle parking is available on Cambridge Road.

Public toilets, picnic tables, and seating are on site. A shade sail covers two picnic tables; the trees planted around the field edges may extend shade as they mature. Play equipment itself has no overhead shade at midday in summer. A cafe is close by on Cambridge Road. Hamilton City Council's smokefree policy applies.
