Leamington Domain Playground is a solid neighbourhood play space on Cambridge's western side, mixing classic swings and slides with a few playful extras that make it worth the stop for toddlers through to primary aged kids.
Equipment
The playground runs a medium sized layout with two types of slide including a tubular slide, a tractor for climbing and pretend play, a carousel, see saws, and a covered skate ramp for older kids on wheels. Swings cover a standard set, an infant swing, and a basket swing, and a multi play climbing structure rounds out the active options. The infant swing, basket swing, tractor, and assisted slide make the junior area genuinely toddler friendly.
Access and Inclusion
Surfacing is a mix of artificial turf and bark chip. There's no shade directly over the play equipment, though established trees shade the seating and some picnic tables, and a gazebo covers the barbecue area. On street parking is available on Wordsworth Street, and the domain has a barbecue, picnic tables, and seating for a longer visit. Waipā District Council operates a smokefree policy across the site.
