What a beautiful beach for swimming & walking. Also the walk over to Granny Bay. We stayed a night with our caravan in designated area & paid for it. Pity can't say the same of some. Impressed at cleanliness of toilets shame some morons left their bag of rubbish in the changing room & fish & chips papers. Also late night(12.15am) revellers spoilt it.
Long Bay Regional Park
Beach Road, Long Bay, Auckland 0792
Why these ages?
Variety all-abilities play with flying fox, swings, sand play and wheelchair-accessible surfacing - genuinely inclusive design. But it sits 'an easy stroll back from the beach' with an unpatrolled kilometre of sand adjacent; no fencing. Toddler-friendly on kit alone but the parent still has to actively supervise the beach edge. Child badge only.
Access notes
Built as a Variety all abilities playground with wet pour surfacing and no raised edges so wheelchairs and unsteady feet move through every area. Reviews confirm on site toilets with changing facilities, and equipment was designed with wheelchair users in mind.

Equipment
Long Bay's Variety all abilities playground sits where Auckland's northernmost stretch of coast opens into a kilometre of north facing sand, built so children and caregivers using wheelchairs can join in rather than watch from the sidelines. It suits family groups of mixed ages and mobility levels, and sits an easy stroll back from the beach under mature trees.
