Loose Parts Play

Accessibility
Partial access
+ Step-free path to the play- Long uneven path from carpark
Access notes

The description explicitly states flat access from the car park and the wide open site are generally accessible, but the centrepiece is a dirt mound for rolling and digging, an uneven surface that limits wheelchair use of the actual play area.

One of the first community loose parts play parks in New Zealand, the Loose Parts Play Park in Pahiatua gives children a genuinely different kind of outdoor experience. Rather than a fixed structure to climb or a slide to go down, this space hands the power of play entirely over to kids, with an ever-changing collection of donated and recycled materials to build, haul, stack, roll, and reimagine however they choose. It sits alongside the Wheel Park at Bush Multisport Park on Huxley Street, making it part of Pahiatua's main recreation hub and an easy stop for families visiting the skate and scooter area or the sports fields next door.
