Muir Park Playground

Muir Park Playground on Halswell Road is a bark surfaced neighbourhood playground in the growing southern suburb of Halswell, built around a multi play climbing structure, a junior slide, a small carousel, a spring loaded see saw and a swing set with an infant seat.

Equipment

The carousel and see saw give the site a slightly old school charm alongside the climbing structure, and the junior slide and infant swing suit younger children with some assistance. The play area covers around 324 m² of bark.

Access and Inclusion

The junior slide and infant swing give the youngest visitors an easy way in, with the climbing structure holding interest for slightly older siblings.

Practical Info

Street parking is available along Halswell Road. Picnic tables provide somewhere to sit and watch, and young trees on site should provide increasing canopy as they mature. Christchurch City Council applies its usual smokefree and vape free policy across the site.
