Lovely playground with benches under trees, lovely spot to have picnic lunch. Kids enjoyed the playground.

Ngongotaha Domain Park
20 Beaumont Road, Ngongotahā, Rotorua 3010
Why these ages?
Merry-go-round and swings appeal to younger kids while slides, climbing frames and adjacent skate area extend the range to tweens. But the Ngongotaha Stream runs through the domain (one of NZ's heaviest fishing waterways) and Lake Rotorua sits on the western shore. Description explicitly says 'no clear signal on perimeter fencing for the play area'. Not a good let-them-roam toddler stop.
Access notes
Description states trails through the reserve are pram and wheelchair friendly. Toilets and parking are available at the domain, though not confirmed as accessible specifically, and no surface material is named for the play equipment itself.

Equipment
Ngongotaha Domain Park sits at the centre of Ngongotaha village on the western shore of Lake Rotorua, with Mount Ngongotaha rising behind it. The village takes its name from a legend of the explorer Ihenga, who was offered a drink, ngongo, from a calabash, taha, by the Patu-paiarehe on the mountain. The playground offers slides, climbing frames, swings and a merry-go-round for a broad age range.
