Selwyn Park

Selwyn Park in Te Awamutu combines a large modern playground, a fenced water play area, a bike skills park and a skatepark along the Mangaohoi Stream, making it one of Waikato's most fully equipped family destinations.

Equipment

The Pop n' Good Playground has an inground carousel, a hamster wheel, a basket swing, a climbing structure, a disk rocker, a flying fox, wooden and tubular multi-play structures with slides, water play, a wobbly bridge, an embankment slide, a supernova spinner, musical play elements and swings with an infant swing. A dedicated fenced junior area adds its own basket swing, infant swing, small multi-play structure and musical play. The adjoining Pop n' Good Bike Park, sponsored by Davies Foods, has a learn-to-ride circuit and pump track for bikes, scooters and skateboards.

Access and Inclusion

The fenced junior playground gives toddlers a contained space separate from the bigger equipment. On-street angle parking serves the site, with minimal tree shade over parts of the playground and shade sails at the bike park.

Practical Info

Barbecue areas, the Te Awamutu Events Centre and library, and the adjoining skatepark round out the precinct. The swimming pool next door charges entry. Waipa District Council keeps the park smokefree.
