Victoria Park

Victoria Park on Bank Street in Te Awamutu is a community green space with a full junior playground next to the town's well known rose garden and historic band rotunda.

Equipment

The playground has swings including an infant swing, a multi-play structure with slide, a basket swing, a see-saw, and a carousel, on a bark surface.

Access and Inclusion

On street parking is available, and minimal tree shade covers the multi-play structure, with a band stand offering some cover for spectators. Tennis courts and picnic tables sit alongside the playground.

History and Cultural

The park's band rotunda opened in 1912 and is a heritage listed structure that Waipā District Council has worked to restore. The adjoining rose garden opened in 1969 and carries more than 2,500 plants across over 50 varieties, flowering from November to May.
