King Edward Park runs a storybook theme, a bronze Wendy statue paired with a Lions Club pirate ship, a tree fort and an old naval cannon kids climb over, plus a shaded sandpit and water play. Queen Elizabeth Playground nearby is the quieter, low-key green space for a shorter stop. Four playgrounds, spread wide across Surf Highway 45 and SH3 rather than clustered in one town, so plan the coastal stop for a calmer morning and save the inland ones for when the wind picks up.
