Dixon Park Playground

Dixon Park sits on Tainui Street in the heart of Greymouth, a 6.5 acre West Coast reserve with a small creek and a summer public pool. The playground has a gated toddler area with sensory panels alongside a larger zone for older children.

Equipment

The larger zone has a junior and a senior multi-play structure with slides, swings including infant swings, a carousel, spring toys, a see-saw and a paddling pool, mostly on bark surfacing. A large covered structure shades the multi-play tower, though the rest of the equipment and the picnic tables sit in the open.

Access and Inclusion

The gated secure toddler area has soft matting and sensory panels, giving younger children their own contained space away from the busier senior equipment. Accessible garden paths run through the park.

Practical Info

Shaded picnic areas, BBQs, drinking water and toilets are all on site, with on-street parking, making this a well regarded family stop in central Greymouth.
