Elizabeth Rose Park

Elizabeth Rose Park sits on Pehi Kupa Street in central Waikanae, directly beside the train station, Memorial Hall, and Kāpiti Coast Museum, with two separate play areas set among rose gardens.

Equipment

Both play areas have swings, slides, and climbing structures, plus a multi-play structure and a carousel, on a bark surface, suited to primary school age children.

Access and Inclusion

Fencing around the play zones gives a boundary for toddlers without closing off the open garden feel. A pergola offers covered seating for caregivers. Minimal tree shade covers the equipment, with better shade over the picnic table and seating.

History and Cultural

The reserve holds heritage and climbing rose varieties along its fences and paths, and includes a war memorial. Two tennis courts run in summer and two netball courts in winter.
