Esplanade Children's Bike Track (Junior Road Safety Park)

Why these ages?

Fully fenced miniature road network aimed at kids 2-10 learning to ride, with working lights, roundabouts and give-way signs. Toddlers can potter but bikes and a pump track with small jumps mean parents must watch a 2-4yo closely - it's a bike-first environment, not a run-around zone. Child sweet spot (5-9) is exceptional; tweens still enjoy the pump track and road-code practice.

Esplanade Children's Bike Track, also known as the Junior Road Safety Park, is a miniature road network built to scale inside Victoria Esplanade, complete with intersections, a roundabout, working traffic lights, and give way and stop signs that mirror Palmerston North's real streets. It suits children aged two to ten learning to ride and read the road, alongside a broader playground next door for younger siblings.

Well groomed and safe place for young kids to have a skate, skoot or bike ride. Parking right next door and a large newly updated playground/wild bird life reserve.

It's a great place to bring the kids and teach them road safety in a safe area without the worry of having to deal with traffic as well.
