Great place to take the kids to practice riding their bikes. Lots of fun for little ones too.

Esplanade Children's Bike Track (Junior Road Safety Park)
West End, Palmerston 4410
Why these ages?
Fully fenced miniature road network aimed at kids 2-10 learning to ride, with working lights, roundabouts and give-way signs. Toddlers can potter but bikes and a pump track with small jumps mean parents must watch a 2-4yo closely - it's a bike-first environment, not a run-around zone. Child sweet spot (5-9) is exceptional; tweens still enjoy the pump track and road-code practice.
Access notes
Description says the wider Esplanade has paved paths suitable for pushchairs, a positive step free signal, but names no accessible toilet, accessible parking or transfer piece specific to a wheelchair user.
