Why these ages?

Palmerston North's biggest destination play - wooden fort with slides, playhouse, flying fox, climbing net, inground trampolines, mini railway, learn-to-cycle track and (per reviews) a summer splash pool. Wide spread of separated zones with plenty of shade. Toddlers get bowl rocker and trampolines but no fencing means water and tall structures need active supervision.

Victoria Esplanade Playground is Palmerston North's biggest destination play space, sitting inside the sports focused Fitzherbert Park with an enormous spread of recently renewed equipment. It suits the full age range, from toddlers on the in ground trampolines and bowl rocker through to older kids working the flying fox and climbing net.

Large playground with heaps on offer for all ages incl flying fox. Lots of space between the different play areas, and ample shade from shade sails and big trees. Public toilets on site. Nearby is minigolf and a very affordable ride on train that operates on weekend afternoons.

Great place to take the kids! Playgrounds are well maintained & clean condition. Different play equipment for all ages, so caters for the whole family. Unfortunately, the train wasn't running when we were there but looks fun! Will definitely be taking the kids back & would love to take a walk/run through the gardens.

Good facility. Could have been cleaner. It must be hard work maintaining these places when they get abused by the public. We were unlucky enough to use this place at the wrong time. NZ has such a high standard of public toilets compared to my experience in the UK (I'm an ex-pat). Unfortunately NZ also has a minority who don't appreciate it. First ever toilet review I think!
