Glasgow Park

Glasgow Park is a well-equipped village playground in Waimauku, a small settlement northwest of Auckland, with a flying fox, a rotonet, and a tubular slide multi-play structure on bark surfacing that suits a wide age range.

Equipment

A dedicated junior section adds a smaller multi-play structure with slides for young children, plus a spring toy and carousel, while swings come with both infant and basket options. Four outdoor fitness stations sit alongside the playground for parents and older siblings.

History and Cultural

The colourful playground was sponsored by the Waimauku Lions Club, which has served the community for over 35 years and also installed the village clock and runs the Waimauku Gala. The Glasgow Park Hall next door, with a kitchenette and capacity for 50 people, is available for community hire, and the Waimauku Pony Club also operates from the site.

Practical Info

Picnic tables sit under shade sails near the seating, though the play equipment itself has no midday shade. Street parking is available, and Muriwai Beach is a short drive away for families combining a village visit with a day at the coast.
