Fantastic playground for kids of all ages. We drove down from Pukekohe for the day. Well worth the trip. Kids had a blast and we had a picnic by the lake. The cafe is expensive but otherwise, a great day out
Lake Playground
90B Pembroke Street, Hamilton Lake, Hamilton 3204
Why these ages?
Reviews confirm 'fully fenced and secured play area is perfect for younger children'. Separate junior fence + shade sails + water play inside junior area, all-abilities design with poured rubber. Lake Rotoroa borders the site but junior fence contains the drowning-adjacent risk. Massive main play area handles primary-age kids well.
Access notes
Description explicitly says continuous rubber surfacing and a boardwalk let wheelchairs and strollers move through the play area as easily as walking feet, plus an in-ground carousel with stable easy-to-sit seats and an accessibility swing, a transfer in seat rather than a swing the chair rolls onto.
What's here
Lake Playground at Hamilton Lake Domain is one of the region's largest playgrounds, built for every age from toddlers to primary schoolers on the shores of Lake Rotoroa. Continuous rubber surfacing and a long boardwalk running through the play area mean wheelchairs and strollers can move through it as easily as walking feet.
