Lovely park, has improved over the years. Better In the day though 😁 …
Pohutukawa Park Playground
90 Makarini Street, Paraparaumu 5032
Why these ages?
Infant swing, basket swing, multi-play with slide and a separate slide, plus a spread-out layout that keeps family groups from crowding — good for parents with a toddler and a runner. Perimeter seating and surrounding orchard/field make supervision easy on a quiet residential street. Reviews describe it as a little playground for little kids; the 8yo review flags it as too small/tame. Nothing pitched at tweens beyond the field.
Access notes
The playground is all on bark surfacing, and a review even complains it should be plastic matting instead of bark. Only ordinary on street parking is available with no dedicated accessible bay, and there are no toilets on site.
What's here
Pohutukawa Park's playground is a generously spread out play area on Makarini Street in Paraparaumu, roomy enough for several family groups to play at once alongside a four square court and a community orchard.
