Playgrounds in Ōpōtiki

Memorial Park playground sits at the corner of Ōpōtiki's main sports ground on Albert Street, a short walk from the town's main street shops. It's an open, unfenced play space built for primary school age kids, tucked in beside rugby, netball and tennis fields and a cycleway trailhead older kids can extend into on bikes or scooters. The adjoining pavilion has toilets and a kitchen, useful before or after a game on the surrounding fields. Ōpōtiki sits at the western gateway to the East Cape, and on a wet day Hukutaia Domain's bush walks a few minutes south of town make an easy backup.
