Playgrounds in South Wairarapa

Featherston's Clifford Square is where South Wairarapa families end up, home to the fully fenced Joy Cowley Children's Playground with separate toddler and big kid zones, climbing equipment, a seesaw and picnic tables under shade. A 2025 refurbishment relocated the flying fox and added a soft pour surface, and the town's children's bookshop sits right next door for a stop before or after. It is the district's fenced destination play, an easy draw for families from Greytown and Martinborough as well as Featherston. Expect the Remutaka northwesterly to pick up through Featherston afternoons, so mornings tend to be the calmer window to visit.
